- September 10, 2006 - Katherine's To Attend Special Event Conference in Los Angeles
Katherine's Catering announces that Katherine Hilboldt Farrell, President, and Rula Kort Bawardi, Senior Event Planner, have both been selected to lead a seminar at the Special Event 2007 in Los Angeles, California in January 2007. The annual trade conference and trade show attract over 5,000 attendees affiliated with the events industry.
Ms. Farrell will speak about "being in business for the long haul and still thriving..." She will be speaking about employee training and retention, managing cash flow, staying on top and reinventing your business year after year when new competitors enter the market. Katherine's Catering was awarded 'Caterer of the Year' in 2000, by Catering Magazine.
Ms. Bawardi's topic is Intercultural Communications in Catering. She will explain how to work with clients from around the world, and incorporate their customs and family traditions into a special event.
She will also talk about working with unique menus, event design and unusual logistics of intercultural events. Ms Bawardi owned an event planning company in Jerusalem prior to joining the Katherine's Catering team over four years ago.
- May 26, 2006 - Annette Esch is promoted to Assistant Event Planner at Katherine's Catering
Esch began working for Katherine's in November 2005 as a part-time Catering Event Supervisor. She joins Katherine's after working for The University of Michigan's Institute of Continuing Legal Education, as the Coordinator of Professional Education Programs.
Her food service experience can be attributed to her position as Assistant Manager for Argiero's Italian Restaurant in Dexter. She will be responsible for providing support for event coordination, sales and customer relations. Esch earned a BA from the University of Michigan in Russian Studies.
- April 17, 2006 - Katherine's Catering sends employees to boot camp, catering boot camp
Katherine's Catering owner Katherine Farrell and event planner Rula Bawardi recently attended Bill Hansen's Leading Caterer's of America Catering Boot Camp in Philadelphia, Pa. While at the camp, they presented a session on "Creative Catering - Transforming Restrictions Into Cool Outcomes."
- April 17, 2006 - Jennifer Shanteau has joined Katherine's Catering in Ann Arbor as an event planner
Jennifer Shanteau is hired as a new event planner for Katherine's Catering. Shanteau joins Katherine's after working for the University of Michigan Law School. She has also worked in the marketing department at Libbey, Inc. in Toledo and at the Toledo Museum of Art.
She will be responsible for event coordination, sales and customer relations. She earned a BA in Art History from the University of Toledo.
